I am a friendly and patient individual with a passion for scientific outreach: educating others to be scientifically literate and comfortable working and interacting with the scientific world.
I enjoy exploring the outdoors and introducing others to the natural world.
BSc (Hons) Earth and Ocean Science, NUI Galway. This included modules in geology, GIS and mapping, paleontology, marine and ocean sciences, environmental and agricultural sciences, botany and phycology, and more.
I have significant experience working in research labs, on vessels, and in report and academic writing. My undergrad final year thesis was in geological mapping. I mapped the extents of lithologies found in the Cooley Peninsula, and explored their geologic evolution, and impacts on local agriculture and human activity. I have also worked on research projects in epigenetics and phycology, building a passion and interest in analytical science methods and algal research.
