I have spent the past two summers teaching English to teenagers in Spain. From this experience, I have learnt how to clearly communicate ideas and themes, motivate young people to maximise their potential and empower them to approach challenges using an innovative and assertive approach.

My approach to grinds will, primarily, be one that is flexible. I believe that a "one-size-fits-all" approach does not suit the Junior/Leaving Cert and so we will work with the tutee to focus on areas they feel require attention within a specific subject area.

From my own experience of sitting State examinations, regular practise using past exam papers is key for success and so I shall set weekly homework, which I will expect students to have completed for the following grinds session. The tutee will be supplied with notes on a weekly basis. Each week, we will cover a different theme/strand within a particular subject area and the weekly homework shall correspond to this.

I am a third year student of English Literature and History at Trinity College Dublin.

I have a proven track record of academic excellence - I achieved 11 'A' grades at Higher Level in the Junior Certificate, 605 points in all Higher Level subjects in the Leaving Certificate and was awarded an Entrance Exhibition to Trinity College in recognition of my high results. Furthermore, I received a score of 100% in Leaving Cert English. Most recently, I was chosen to receive a Laidlaw Scholarship from Trinity College - a prestigious scholarship which provides full funding to carry out independent research within the field of English Literature over two consecutive summers.

My strengths lie within subjects related to languages, literature and history. I received a H1 in Leaving Cert English, history, business and French and have a wealth of notes, personal advice and exam tips to impart to any student who wishes to excel in these subject areas.
